Perhaps Triumphs are age-related?
I was doing some work on the old 2.5 saloon today and a guy of about my age
(62) came tottering down the pavement, supported by his zimmer frame and
paused to look at the car. He (like many others) said how well he remembered
them. As we seemed to be getting on quite well, I politely enquired about
his health (for zimmer frame) and learned he had just come home on Friday
from hospital having had a major operation to his "prostate and
surroundings."
In an attempt to re-assure him that having experienced similar difficulties
myself in that area - but of a cancerous nature - now recovered, he said
with a wry smile "Well, I wouldn't advertise what happened to me on the side
of my car."
I was puzzled and asked for his further elaboration.
Pointing a finger towards the round PI badge that all versions of my model
carried from new on the C post, he said "just there, look!"
"But that means petrol injection," I replied with a smile.
"Ah," he said "You know that and I know that - but couldn't it also mean
*prostate inspected*?"
We both had a good laugh and knowing many PI owners as I do in the UK,
they're all of a prostatic age so perhaps our cars are age-related?
Would the list comment as to whether or not I should poke a catheter down
the rear tailpipe?
