You have one bolt that is more or less horizontal and one that is more or
less vertical. The horizontal one is the one that you loosen to adjust your
timing. Don't loosen that one. The vertical one holds the dizzy to the
pedestal. Loosen that one and pull the distributor straight up. If you look
at the
bottom of the dizzy you will see how it seats down in the hole. It can only
go one way. You cannot put it back 180 degrees out from the way you took it
out. The two little dogs that come off the center are off center. If you
do not loosen the pinch clamp and do not turn the engine, you are able to drop
it back in and not retime.
