I got one of those replica-of-original TR3 luggage racks that mount thru
the hinge pins. Thanks to a recent thread the pins were dead easy to
press out w/o even removing the hinge (thanks Alex).
Of course the dingus came with no instructions so it must intuitively
obvious... but I don't see how it all fits up back at the hinges. I've
got a pair of of pins that insert thru the outer side of each hinge
leaving a threaded stud projecting outward on each side. I take it the
rear legs of the rack go over these studs... but how?
I am assuming one can mount & remove the rack w/o unbolting the hinges
from either the lid or the body... that was rather the point in the
design I think, but I don't see how.
Also, when the rack is not in place I'm thinking a stainless steel bolt
(of appropriate diameter) with a self-locking nut would be okay in place
of the removed pin. Right?
Thanks for any help.
