John, On my current TR4 project, I used the following: putty knife, steel wool and liberal amounts of paint thinner and elbow grease. It is also handy to have a wide variety of colorfull language available when some of that crap falls in your face, eyes etc. Dont forget rubber gloves to protect against the paint thinner.
