On my white TR3 I am not going for a 'Concours' restoration, but, rather a
'mean/kick-ass look (?)'. Does anyone agree with me that it looks just as
good without these 2 pieces on each side?

Paul, as it happens, both "guards" ARE present on the eBay car, but they've
been painted over. If you look very closely at the closeup photos, you'll see
the outlines of the guards. This, and what looks almost like little breaks in
the paint and/or body filler, makes me just a bit suspect about this car.
;-)
But HEY, it's your car to do with as you wish. I'm so used to seeing the
guards after all these years that a car without them might look strange to me
at
first. But I think I could get used to it!

*Mrs Irrelevant: Oh, is it a jet?
*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
