Thankyou for your help everyone. The battery has indeed been flattened a few times so that is probably why its shot. I will go out and buy a medium priced biggest battrey I can get into my TR. Thankyou for the info re the vacuum gauge needle wobble, I was fairly sure that I had a stock cam.
