Being desperate and
gullible, I let the man talk me into making it as good as it was
before
despite the 60 model original radiator needed 5-6 front rows
(complete with
leaks) pinched off and soldered.

If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on the "crusty old guy"!

like he knows his stuff.
Give your renovated radiator and your "crusty old man" a fair chance
here!
Paul. I'm with Andy here.... I had an old guy go thru my original
radiator...
I was a little ambivalent, but in this summer's 100+ temps, it never
went over
a tick above 185 in the gauge; measured 177 by a digial thermometer.
(I don't run an aux fan) I say give it a try!
