How does the toe-in look? If you have way too much toe-in then you will hit
the steering stops on each front wheel early. For a rough setting I usually
center the steering wheel and then sight down the edge of the front tire and
adjust until I can barely see the rear. If I don't see the tire I have too
much
and adjust out. If I have a good view of the rear tire tread I have too much
toe-out and adjust in. This gets me close enough to get me to an alignment
shop.
Also check the steering stops of the trunions. They are adjustable, too.
