Dear All,

I have a peculiar problem with the stereo radio-cassette in my 2500S. It
is quite a decent Panasonic, dating from c. 1995, and once lived in my
Spit, where it would occasionally cut out, leaving the display working,
but no sound output. A light slap on the side would normally set it
going again. Now it is newly installed in the 2500, I *know* that
there are no loose wiring connections. The stereo works fine when the
engine and transmission are cold, but once they get really hot (and
ambient temperatures in Bedfordshire recently have been 90-95F) I lose
the sound altogether - except when going around a left-hand corner! My
guess is a loose joint in the amplifier section of the PCB.

I presume that the only answers to this problem are:

1. Buy a new stereo
2. Strip out the parcel shelves, carpets, transmission tunnel and other
gubbins to increase the flow of cooling air to the stereo
3. Don't try to listen to music when it is really hot, unless driving
around and around in a tight left-hand circle.
4. Disassemble the stereo, trace and solder up the loose joint

But if you can come up with another, more user-friendly, answer, I'd be
much obliged!

ATB
