Yeah, that seems reasonable. In an ideal world, you would compare the advance
to the curve given somewhere ... but if you can see the timing mark move
smoothly as you slowly rev the engine up, and smoothly come back as you let the
rpm back down, then it's working well enough.
That leaves the timing marks ... I don't know if this is true of the GT6+, but I
know some TR6 had a rubber ring inside the front pulley, that can separate and
allow the part with the mark to rotate relative to TDC. Definitely worth
checking, IMO ... but I know you're anxious to finish getting ready for the trek
to Texas, and as long as it runs OK, I'd leave that for another day.
