Hello to all,
Just a FYI note. I know there have been several threads on the proper radiator
cap with all the various radiators for the TR3. Those with the crank hole and
neck-4lbs/1" neck, no crank hole and neck (TR4) 7lbs/3/4" neck, and no crank
hole and no neck-7 lbs/3/4". In my case I have 3 radiators for my 59 TR3A. Two
with crank holes and one with the neck and no crank hole. Going for as much
originality, I tested the two with the crank hole. Both bad, so I went with
the neck and no crank hole. It tested fine. So this is the one I went with.
Everything else is the same, including original type thermostat. The only
problem now was the 3/4" neck and 7 lbs issue. Many threads indicated that the
3/4" neck 4 lbs cap was unavailable. On a recent inquiry I found a 3/4" 4lbs
cap to fit my situation. The part brand is Balkamp # is 703-1412 located as
your nearest NAPA store.
