Good Day to the list.......I am finally back up and running( the PC, not
the TR6) after suffering a Trojan invasion, hijacking, etc. Unfortunately, I
lost everything that I had stored on the PC. So, I will need to re-ask some
questions and I hope that you will all forgive me. I am in the process of
rebuilding the front and rear suspension on a '74 TR6. The list of questions
is as follows:
1) How does one remove the rear fulcum pin bolts without removing the
body? Evidently the rear bolts must be removed by gaining access from the
engine bay (the engine is still installed).
2) I have asked this before, but lost the reply: I have a set of heavy
duty, as well as regular springs, but don't know which is which. How can I
tell the difference?
3) When reinstalling the bushings, is there a recommended lubricant for
rubber? for nylatron?
4) While I was crawling around under the car, removing the exhaust system
to get at the prop shaft and the differential, I noticed the reinforcement
panel of the frame has rust damage. If memory serves, isn't this called the
'T- shirt'? How involved is the replacement of this area? Are we talking frame
alignment jigs, or is this a remove and weld in?
I appreciate everyone's indulgence and time spent in replying to my
inquiries ! Any advice or tips would also be appreciated. You can email me off
post if you like at jrmcarthur@verizon.net. Thanks again to
all!..............Jim in York, Pa.
