I spent all day assembling the pedal cluster and the gas pedal shaft. I had
asked for advice on the gas pedal, but I didn't follow it and I think the
reason was was due to the fact that my milage varied. I think I will be happy
with the result. You see, most who advised me proably had TR4's they were
taking shaft/s out-of. On the other hand, I had a TR3A that I was trying to
install the accelerator into.
Since it had been years since I had disasembled it, I couldn't fathom how
it was intact and taken taken off the car BUT THE MILLS PINS HAD NOT BEEN
TAMPERED WITN- SO HOW THIS MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED iattributed to Houdini.

Like folks suggested I attempted to remve both Mills Pins, however, the second
one could never clearly be seen (even though it was there somewhere in the
metal rod. Now what was uniquely done in my situation since I could install
the shaft from outside the car was.... that I sliced thru (heaven forbid) the
leftmost teflon donut's bearing retainer with my skill hack saw and removed it
from the shaft AND THEN took it from the outside and wentinside the car with
it, I then threaded the gas pedal thru the 1 1/2" hold and from inside the car
will finish the car!! No one will see the one cut bearing retainor, since it
is under the dash.

There, I was proud that I installed this shaft into my car without needing to
remove either mill pin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,
Paul Dorsey 60 TR3A
