Hi Guy,
Feels great getting parts back doesn't it? With every piece back you get
more control of your Triumph restoration. I know how you feel about finding
a good machine shop too. I found one here in Cincinnati that is really
great. Only about 2 miles from my garage too. The bad news is that he is
getting close to retiring and his son only wants to sell parts not continue
in the machine shop portion. He and I got to be pretty good friends over the
months of work. He often complained about how his business is declining due
to the fact that it is easier to just buy a short block than rebuild one. I
can vouch for that as my son's Eagle Talon broke it's timing belt and the
engine was essentially a throw away at that point due to the ridiculous cost
of it's parts. Joe ended up buying a used motor on the internet for
$1,000.00 including freight.
On the oil circulation path, seem to remember that in the blue Triumph
service manual there was a oil circulation path shown somewhere. Can't swear
to it and I don't have the manual in front of me.
Best of luck on the fun part of the restoration!
