> I guess I have a similar question as Terry. What pedestals?
Well, dang it, can't someone with the documentation handy help me out here ?
I'm pretty sure the pedestals were introduced with the body redesign at
TS60K, but I haven't had time to dig through my documentation on the subject
or look at my cars. Perhaps I shouldn't have said anything. The gas tanks
were not flat on the bottom, and the earlier cars had a "shelf" built into
the body that the tank sat on. I *think* the later cars had bent metal
pedestals in this area, welded to the sheet metal, but maybe I'm full of BS.
Or maybe not, here is a photo where the RH pedestal can (barely) be seen.
Note that the "shelf" is not present, only a hump that the tank must clear.

Certainly the filler neck would have to be heavily modified to accommodate
that.
