I just went through this last week! Figuring about 2 hours to replace
the upper bushes ended up about a 6 hour job. When I did the TR6 a few
years ago it was a piece of cake because all the nuts are welded to the pan.
The outer 2 nuts were attached, the inner 2 were not. I was wondering
where the nut came from that I saw sitting on the lower spring pan. I've
been doing lots of work on the car, so I figured it was just another
orphan piece of hardware until I realized the top bolt was just spinning
upon reassembly. I was able to get the nuts back on with a couple of
socket extensions. It wasn't an enjoyable experience. In fact one nut
still has a 1/4 drive 1/2 inch socket on it. I'm stll trying to figure
out how to "wiggle" it out. Maybe late at night on a deserted road......
I greased the inner and outer of the poly bushings, too. I don't need
any more squeaks than I already have. Especially in the car.
Good luck!
