The pressure plate is never rebuilt. You have to buy a new one if it is
defective. Check what Randall says. I think he has stated that he has
re-used the pressure plate with a new clutch disk and throw out bearing. You
may be getting the flywheel confused with the pressure plate. You can have
the flywheel resurfaced. Your machine shop will take off a few thousandths
of an inch to true the thing up a bit and remove any grooves created by the
worn clutch disk. Sort of like having your brake rotors and drums ground
when you replace the brake shoes. What it does is provide a smooth, uniform
surface for the clutch disk to bite into. The flywheel can be easily mounted
in a lathe for this purpose where the pressure plate can move slightly as
the cutter touches it.
