Hi all. Just wanted to give plaudits and recommendations to a local shop.

I've had "Group 2" (http://www.group2inc.com), in Seattle, do a variety of
jobs on my '72 MGBGT and '71 Midget (mainly around alignment and
suspension). About 3 - 4 months ago I had them replace the GT's discs (with
drilled/slotted rotors, etc), wheel bearings, etc. I usually only drive my
GT a hundred miles a month or so, and it was just a couple weeks ago that
one of the wheel bearings failed (catastrophically, with a bang and a lurch)
on the freeway. I had the car towed to their shop and explained the
problem.

Without being prompted, they took complete responsibility and said that they
didn't know what had happened, but they would do whatever it took to make me
happy. It turns out that they needed to replace the stub axle on that side,
along with the associated hardware and fasteners; and they also replaced the
wheel bearing on the opposite side. They said "we don't know how we screwed
it up" (as in there was no clear cause of failure), but they didn't try to
blame the bearing manufacturer or anybody else. They checked with two other
shops to make sure that they had a clear understanding of proper assembly,
and didn't charge me for the repair.

I felt that "they treated me right". They were nothing less than pleasant
and positive (and apologetic) about the whole thing. I've been very very
happy with the quality of their work previously - I've had them both correct
other shop's work where it fits into their area of expertise, and also had
them refer me elsewhere where they didn't have the necessary expertise.

With all that, I can't help but publicly praise them. It's too often (and
too common) that bad experiences are shared - and it's noteworthy to receive
exceptional service such as this.

So, no financial interest, etc, etc; YMMV, but I'm happy and will definitely
continue to use them and refer people to them.

Phil
