It all depends on where you mount it. I mounted mine on the engine block and
I can barely hear it with the engine off. If you mount it to the frame near
the tank (the preferred location) I doubt you will hear it. If you mount it
to the sheetmetal behind the seat it may serve as a sounding board and amplify
the pulses and make for an annoying, persistent tap-tap-tap. If you must
mount it to a sheetmetal panel, mount it to a small plate and mount the plate
using rubber washers available at your local hardware store. Or better yet, if
you have a junk electronics store nearby see if they have some isolation mounts.
