I knew it was dumb to ask since the 010 was a clear indication of something
less than standard. 010 is stamped on each individual bearing shell too so
there can be no doubt. They came in a box of spares with the car. I suppose
it is best to look for a standard set of Vandervell's to renew the bottom.
That's to bad these NOS Boxes are way cool. I really do not have the tools or
expertise to measure the journals but I am confident that this motor has never
been out of the car so a fitment of new standard bearings would be my
choice. I have done this before on the TR3B rod bearings but since the
journals
were scored it was a waste of time and the motor had to be pulled. I was
successful on the rod bearings on the TR6, replacing them at 35,000 miles. I
have
never attempted Mains but now is the time to go exploring in there. I have
been told that that top, front shell is the BEAR!
