Hi Aaron:
Although it's not clearly stated here, on the some other pages
associated with the unit it is mentioned that the unit does work in
reverse, i.e. to record to the tape as well. As Randall mentions, it's
not too hard to use a tape recorder and sound card to do the same job,
however I assume this lets you avoid some of the button-pushing and
mixing work. I would still rather work with my new radio, but for those
originality buffs out there, something like this, or Randall's
suggestion, could prove to be useful.
Cheers,
Mark

Mark,
Unless I am understanding the process wrong what you are describing
will not work. This device is designed to record FROM old cassette
tapes, not to record TO them. So, even if you installed the device in
your computer, you would not be able to record MP3's onto a normal
cassette tape and play them in a retro cassette deck. Rather you would
be able to record your old music files on cassette to a computer or
CD-ROM, then you could play your old cassette music in your modern in
dash MP3 or portable MP3 player. In the end you will still have an old
cassette player that will still only play old cassettes.

For those listers who want to buck the trend of putting MP3 players in
their cars, here is a useful device that lets you can take your MP3 and
ipod music and send it to a cassette tape for playing in your car's
existing deck.

Not for me as I did the dirty deed last year and carved out a DIN
opening in my centre console for a new CD radio/deck. However, for those
wanting to keep their 1970s radio installed, this might be the ticket.
NFI of course.
