That would appear to be a trade off. While it would let more air in, it is
significantly heavier than those little anuminium pieces.

ISTR that the "Vista" grille was recommended for racing purposes (especially
on the "Mk1"), presumably because it would allow more air flow? Aesthetically,
though, it's a more personal call. (I like both styles.)
