Hi Tim,
All general tune-up procedures should be followed, then the ignition and
fuel systems checked to be within specs, even the valves adjusted.
You might also want to pull out the fuel tank and check it for rust and
corrosion in the bottom, any nasty stuff that's getting into the fuel system.
Also, if there is a fuel filter installed, might need changing, especially if
it's been doing it's job and catching any nasty stuff coming out of the fuel
tank. And, if all the rubber fuel lines are older, they might be attacked,
softened and crumble eventually with modern gas formulations. Replace with good
quality new rubber lines that are now made to tolerate some of the interesting
things finding their way into modern gasoline.
