A major reason that battery boxes rust away is that when the voltage regulator fails, it allows the acid to boil away from the battery but once the vapor hits colder air it condenses back to liquid.Dripping sulpheric acid on steel is generally not good for the steel. The working life of the batterty is also compromised. Cheers. Alex |
