Quick question - TR6 steering wheel

Good morning all:

Is the material that wraps around an original TR6
steering wheel leather or rubber?  I always thought
that it was leather - and if it's not it sure looks
like it and I've been mistaken all along.  

I'm selling an original wheel from my 1974 and want to
make sure that I'm describing it correctly.
