Hello listers, I finally managed to perform the tests
suggested to me a few days ago and here are the
results:

Temp Sensor: The gauge pegs at full tempurature when
I ground the wire from the sender to a good ground.
That tells me the gauge is still good. However this
is a new sensor and it did the same thing as the
previous sensor. It would just barely register on the
gauge. It would creep just over the cold mark, but
not quite to the "normal" range. After some thinking,
could it be that the sensor is wrong for my
application? I say this because I ordered the sensor
for a 69 Spitfire (Which is what the motor is out of)
rather than a 66 Herald. Could this be the root of my
problem? Does anyone know if a sensor for a 948
Herald motor will fit into a 1300 MKIII motor?

Generator: After performing the tests suggested from
the list, everything looked fine. So I consulted my
Haynes manual. It had me disconnect the two terminals
on the generator, jump them together with a length of
wire, place a voltmeter between this length of wire
and the Generator "yolk" ground. (Does this mean the
case of the generator? Thats where I tested it too)
My Voltmeter read 6.4V where the book said it should
read about 15V. It suggested that the Armature is
suspect. My question is: did I perform the test
correct and what would it take to get this repaired?

Thanks for the help!!
