Because I was driving through Kansas City after my overdrive stopped
working, and I remembered someone onlist mentioned that they're located
there, I stopped at Vicky Brit on my way home from Pittsburgh. To get an
overdrive relay in case that was the root cause of my overdrive problem.
It wasn't. No British cars in the parking lot, except mine. Sure a lot
different from TRF.
Anyway, we parked by the corner with the sign so I could take a picture.
Then we walked around looking for an entrance. Every door had a sign
that said "please use other entrance" with an arrow pointing one
direction or the other. No matter which of several doors we went to, we
were directed another way. Granted I'd just driven through the night and
might not have been as clever as usual, but we wandered a few minutes
before finding the parts desk door. Insulated indeed.
I joked with the young parts desk guy about the MG's in the showroom --
'do you get to take one of these home each night as an employee
benefit?' -- but he said they hadn't been run in years. I'm glad they
were in the middle of the country when I needed them to be there, but I
definitely get a different vibe than TRF or Moss.
