Hello, everyone.
I admit it.
I have no taste.
I don't know the names of colors, let alone what they look like. The only
reason I know "chartreuse" is a color is because it described a microbus in a
C&W song about a truck convoy. I hear it's a green of some kind. And even
when I look at a couple of colors together, I don't know if they match. My
wife has become resigned to checking my ties before I leave the house in the
morning. "No," she tells me, "mustard does not match catsup."
I'm interested in list advice on the color I'm going to paint my 1959 TR3A
restoration sometime in next 6 months. (I'm not interested in originality,
it's not that kind of question.)
I would prefer the kind of stately dignity of either black or the blue on the
car owned by Malcom & Dawn Pereira (see

First, does anybody have any idea what the heck color that is? I tried to
contact him, couldn't get him, but someone in the club thought it was a royal
blue, but wasn't sure.
Second...and the real reason for this e-mail...a TR3A is a smaller car than
even many of the small cars on the road today. Is there evidence suggesting
that a more visible color, such as a yellow, might be safer?
And third, would a grey top, red interior, go better with black paint or blue
paint? (I tell ya, I'm hopeless.)
Thank you, everyone.
