Chuck,
I believe TR4's shipped with 1-speed wiper motors, and option was a 2-speed.
TR4A's shipped with 2-speed motor as standard.
1-speed motors have no wires coming out but rather push on terminals. 2-speed
motors have a pig tail of two hot wires plus a ground wire.
I've seen used 1-speed motors go for $5-15 and good 2-speeds go for up to
$150.00 (rarer)
A date of late 64 to late 67 stamped on the flat panel 'gear cover' would
indicate proper time period at least.
IMO - keep the 2-speed - I wish I had one.

Hi All,
I had been told by a restorer/National Judge of Triumphs that the
two-speed wiper motor which was originally in my car was "not correct" and
that it
should be a single-speed. The Moss UK catalogue says it should be a Model
DR3, two-speed. I've also been told that the two-speed is right but the Model
#
would have been DR3A, not the DR3 model as per Mossb&..could someone possibly
help me out as to what the correct speed, model# and if possible Lucas Part#
should be on a 4A wiper motor? Also, how many leads out would a two-speed
have?
 Thanks much!
