I talked with the engineers at Dayton, and they say their painted wheels are stronger and stiffer than the chrome ones. The stainless they use for spokes can not be be strung as tightly. The painted steel spokes are stronger and the threads hold better allowing tighter stringing. Good news for me. Stronger and cheaper. Good news for Sue, who wanted them to look more original. Phil |
