Yes, the rings were probably stuck so fresh oil and heat cycles probably
helped things free up a bit.
Straight weight oil won't clean any differently that multi oil. Additives /
flushes should be avoided they can churn up sludge causing the pickup to clog
and/ or solid debris to lock the oil pump. Just change the oil as normal, the
engine will be a good as it gets short of a rebuild.
