to mount my electric fan i took some 1" X 1/8" flat aluminum bar. i cut and
bent it into a channel shape that would wrap around the vertical edge of the
steel frame that holds the radiator together. i drilled and taped a 1/4"
diameter hole calculating that it would mate to the fan. i then screwed a flat
head
screw into the taped hole. repeat 4 times, one for each fan mounting hole.
i made the channel just a hair tight so i had to gently tap in into place
with a soft mallet.
now all i had to do was offer the fan up and bolt in on.
the vertical frame is proud of the cooling fins so the flat head screw never
gets within 1/4" of the fin. now i can take it on and off as easily as i like
and if i take it off altogether one would never know that it was ever there.
