I'm not sure how hard this is on a TR6 ... but on a TR3 it's fairly easy to drop the pan & pull a piston to have a look at the rings without pulling the engine. If you can, I'd certainly suggest doing that while the head's off. New rod, main and thrust bearings would be cheap insurance, too. Randall |
