I had the same concerns and I sent mine to Partco for rebuilding, quick turn
around and not as expensive as I thought it might be!
Talk to Gary I think. (513) 471-9723, 1494 State Ave. Cincinnati, OH

Subject: TR6 brake servo
I am restoring a 1971 TR6 and will be replacing the master cylinder. The
brake servo I have has some surface rust but I am not sure whether I should
replace this as well(expensive). Is there a way to tell if it is in working
order since at current the car is not running.
