bonnet cables for an early TR2

Hi List
  I need hood release cables for my TR2.  I can't seem to locate any from 
the usual parts sources.  Does anyone know of a source, or perhaps a 
substitute that might work?  There are two cables in the hood release, one 
going from the cockpit to one of the latches, the second cable goes from one 
latch to the other.  Moss lists a "emergency Hood opening kit" for the TR4, 
would this work on the TR2?
