If you do use teflon tape (and I have) be sure to leave one full thread
exposed so that any strands that get cut loose by the threads will not find
their
way into fuel system. If you can't find 1/4 inch tape (hint check professional
plumbing supplies of McMaster Carr, local hardware stores don't carry it) you
can slit regular 1/2 inch tape with a razor knife.
But the paste is better. The particle size is small enough to pass through
the fuel system orifices with no problem.
