Coincidentally, I watched this movie (Diamonds Are Forever) last night on video
(still one of my favorite Bond films). Just to clarify, the Stag in the movie
belonged to Peter Franks who was a bad guy. James Bond took Franks' car (the
Stag) in order to impersonate Peter Franks while under cover in Holland. It
was used only briefly in the film and not in any chase scenes.
The "real" Bond car in this movie was the red 1971 Mustang Mach 1 that he drove
in the Las Vegas scenes including a chase scene with the police on the old Las
Vegas strip (Freemont Street). I want THAT car, even though it would be
considered slow by today's standards.
