Frank, it may not be your separator's fault.  None of the reasonably priced
ones can remove water vapor, and as the air may be quite a bit warmer at the
tank than at the gun, it can hold more water vapor.  As the air cools along
the length of the hose, the water condenses out (much like what happens on
air conditioner coils).

The solution may be to make a pipe run from the compressor tank to another
location, long enough to let the air cool (some people have even built heat
exchangers for this purpose), and put a water trap there.

Another alternative is a water trap right at the gun.
