Ok, I know. I usually have something up about the PVGPA races back in early
January. Blame it on the weather, it still looks like winter out my back
window!
Anyway on to the racing. As you all know by now the Pittsburgh Vintage
Grand Prix Association (PVGPA) has been hosting vintage races at Schenley
Park for 23 years. We raise money for two very worthwhile charities, the
Autistic Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny School. We have raise
nearly 2 million dollars for them so far. As some of you may know we added
historic racing at nearby BeaveRun Race track last year. Again as most of
you know unless you are a VSCCA member it can be very difficult to get an
invite to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix ( it may be even more difficult
this year) Also some of you out there found the walls and curbs of Schenley
Park to be a bit daunting.
Well now you can be a part of the festival of speed that is the week long
Vintage and Historic celebration that makes up the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand
Prix.
The week of rallies, shows, tours and racing starts off with the Historic
Races at BeaveRun. We now have a place for just about any type of sports
car, racing car, production, open wheel or special built between 1900 and
1972! (OK the really early stuff may be a bit happier at Schenley Park but
you are more than welcome to do both!)
For more info right now check out www.cloverleaf-auto.com, click onto the
vintage racing and rally page and follow the links to BeaveRun. Entry
forms, early rules and race groups are posted. More info to follow soon
