Alan,
    Before you go to the trouble of replacing the ignition lock, try having
a new key made.  Keys generally wear out before the pins in the lock.  A
good locksmith can cut a new key to code by reading the old key.  The new
key must be cut to code,  don't duplicate your old key or the new key won't
work either.
