While the most interesting debate of ages continues and along those lines do
we have a statistician to figure out the average age of driver and triumph?

More importantly, I am here to seek the sage advice of all these
wonderful folks who love their Triumphs.

Mine is 1964 TR4, first drove it in 1977, and finally bought in
2002, first car I ever owned. With that tidbit out of the way, here is the
problem. Yesterday, I took it for a long drive. Driving the TR for the past
two months has been limited, since the first part of the year we had nearly
seven feet of snow. As customary, when I first start up the TR, I let it
idle and warm up the engine-its parked in the garage-but day time temps hardly
reach 40-oh and this is California.

Anyhow, I drove out to the family ranch, about a 35 mile round
trip. Not a problem, like everything it great. Return into town, and stop at
the grocery store. I return from the store, and turn the ignition starts.
Then it wants to like die, give it up some gas, it keeps going barely, but the
whole thing chugs, sputters wants to stall, and then after I reach about 20
mph and go for at least a quarter mile it disappears. Returned home, parked
it and let it sit for about an hour, starts up fine. Went for a short five
mile drive, parked just briefly like the grocery store visit, mentioned
previously, and experienced the same sputtering type stuff. Last fall, I did
replace the fuel pump. What should I be looking at?
