My 65th is on April 12th. I am retired from Pratt & Whitney since 1999 and almost retired from CSC. After 43 years I finally picked up a 58 TR3A last June. It was the car I had when I first met my wife in 1962 in Seattle while working my 1st real job at Boeing. I drove it to Georgia in January, without a top, and then home to new England and finally took it to Germany for my army obligation. My 1st son required us to get a larger car....a 62 VW! so the TR had to go. We both wished that we could own one again over all of the years so we finally did. I don't have the personal mechanical knowledge to do major work so I have a pretty good local TR mechanic doing things. The car has been restored but there are several things requiring attention that I have been slowly addressing. Currently I am contemplating engine work since there is some bearing noise. I haven't driven much yet <300 miles and hope to be able to feel comfortable from a reliability viewpoint... eventually. April 12th may be too ambitious for me :-) Thanks, Fran TS32465L 1958 TR3A Somers, CT [demime 0.99d.1 removed an attachment of type application/ms-tnef which had a name of winmail.dat] |
