Dennis,

I don't have any experience with replacement floor pans and can't comment on
the differences between the Big 3, if any. However, if the two or three TRs
that I have restored, or are in process, every one of the driver's side
floor pans was rusted worse than the passenger's side. I believe that is
because most of the time the Tonneau is left up on the passenger's side and
therefore protects the passenger side better, while the drivers side is kept
uncovered much of the time. Certainly with my cars the driver's side is open
all the time as I never have the top up. If it is raining the interior (and
me!) gets wet!

Just my 2 cents!!

Subject: TR3 Floor Pans

All,
In need of a left hand (driver's side in the states) floor pan for my
TR3A project, I checked the usual sources. The latest Moss catalogue
lists the RH pan as available, but the LH one as NA. A phone call to
Moss (USA) shed no additional light as to current or future availability
of the LH pan - no possible expected date, nothing. TRF merely said
they were on backorder, and didn't have an expected delivery date
either. In desperation, I called Vicky Brit, and got a sales person who
quoted "a minimum of 5 weeks backorder" before expected delivery, but
said that I could put my name on a waiting list. Do all of the "big 3"
get body panels from the same sources? I've seen the ones from TRF, and
they look excellent - captive nuts installed, proper stampings, the same
gauge sheet metal as the originals, the whole 9 yards. Of course, never
having actually installed one, I don't know if they actually fit, but
they sure look good! I'll trust Moss to deliver a good product also,
but I've not had much experience with Vicky Brit. Does anyone have any
first hand experience with TR3 floor pans from Vicky Brit? Does anyone
have any other sources for good floor pans for a TR3? One more thing:
why is the LH pan so much scarcer than the RH one?
Thanks, Dennis
