I have no heat coming out of my heater yet it was working fine when I put
the car up on blocks last November. When I started the wiring harness
installation, I disconnected the two heater hoses at the firewall and at the
engine. In doing so, quite a bit of anti-freeze drained out. I had forgotten
about this when I started the car after completing the harness. I had the
car idling for about 5 - 10 minutes when I saw steam coming form the
overflow vent. I shut the car down, waited for it to cool and added
anti-freeze. I let the car idle some more, cool down and added more
anti-freeze..... all together about 1/2 gallon. Today I took the car for a
test drive and discovered that there's no heat. After driving for about 40
minutes, the water temp gauge is right on it's usual mark and the radiator
core is covered with coolant but only cool air at the heater floor vent. I
suspect that there's probably a blockage somewhere in the heater core.
What's the best way to troubleshoot the heater and/or the heater control
valve? If it's needs to be flushed, what's the best direction to do it from,
intake or return? Has anyone ever blown compressed air through their heater
core to clean it out..... or is that a bad idea?

Thanks for any help.
