The car has a plastic box for the battery, I will pop it out over the
weekend & see if it is still connected & free flowing. The ones and
the bottom corners of the boot were full of dirt...

I try to sparse with the water. One I always wash it with the top off
& two because we live in the desert.

I will also check for holes some evening when I can put a bright
light under the hood & have the interior dark.
