IMO you're still better off with electric.  Less noise when not needed, better
fuel mileage, and better cooling at idle.

That's the way I remember it.

I believe there were rubber pads originally.

I was more worried about frame flex being transmitted to the radiator, so I
installed longer bolts with coil springs under the heads.

One popular place is on the apron below the grill.  Of course that means you're
cutting a window in some expensive sheet metal.
