Hi Mike
I always thought the best way to focus a drivers attention on safe driving
practices would be to replace that big soft bag thing in front of us with a
spike! No one is going to be careless faced with that! 8-()>

As a related diversion, I have had a '95 BMW 5 series Touring (estate) for a
couple of months and in that time have had more stupid moments than in the
last couple of years of driving LBC.
First I reversed in to a space in a gravel parking area and the rear end
started to sink so I turned round and drove in, when I left I reversed in to
a rather substantial lump, a derelict railway platform, then I was trying to
diagnose a wheel bearing noise and pushed all the pads back to reduce
background noise, got in the car and let the brakes off, rolled straight
through the closed garage door, no damage to the car but the door is a write
off!
!! Irony Bit !!
To cap it all a kid on a bike rode in to the side one night as I pulled from
a gateway, he finally got up after complaining he had squashed his nuts and
said he was sorry but his brake cable broke earlier that day and he was just
going home, he also had no lights or I would have seen him coming and could
have left room for him to pass in front! Quite what he thought he was going
to do at the main road intersection at the bottom of the hill is anyone's
guess!
When I asked his mother what she was going to do about the damage she said
"Sue you for injuring my son!"
Might just be hitting me saved his life, no way he would have survived the
intersection based on real world probability!
BTW the car is green but I do not think green cars are unlucky!!!

Graham.
