You might want to look closely at the horn ring.  Sometimes the wire to the
horn ring gets a bit frayed after 20-30 years right where it's soldered to the
horn ring.  If a strand of wire is sticking up enough the turn signal
canceller that is welded to the steering shaft will contact the strand of wire
and your horn will blow when you're making turns.  I had this happen to me
while autocrossing at VTR in Richmond this summer.  It was somewhat
distracting while trying to do the second run but provided some comic relief
as I honked going around every turn.  I pulled the fuse to the purple wires to
stop the honking until I could do a temporary fix later.
