Just a thought ... if that's the problem, then wrapping a big hose clamp
around the body of the muffler might help. If you can't find a long enough
clamp easily (JCW sells them), then you could chain several together. Might
be a quick fix, a whole lot cheaper than a whole new exhaust.
Or I can recommend a place in Bellflower, CA that installed a nice mellow
(and thick) glasspack on my TR3A for under $60 complete. It's not SS, but
it's already outlasted the car ... :(
