Balance is a good idea. If the u joints were ever changed and the yokes not put back in the original clock position things will be out of balance. Remember, in 4th gear the drive shaft spins at engine speed and in overdrive it spins faster. Not only will a good balance give less vibration, the bearings in the system will last longer. The old saw about rear tires not needing balance because the driver can't feel the vibration, tends to wear out rear wheel bearings in the long term. Harold |
